QCC has a small team of dedicated staff who lead campaigns, engage with the community, liaise with governments and support our member groups.
As Acting Director at Queensland Conservation Council, Anthony has responsibility for the organisation's climate and nature campaigns, as well as its work in fundraising and communications.
A strategic leader with extensive experience in environmental campaigning and communications, Anthony has more than eight years of experience in leadership roles across the movement. Anthony has worked closely with conservation groups, First Nations communities, and values-aligned businesses across the country on campaigns around environmental law reform & litigation, nature conservation, and ethical divestment.
Prior to joining the environment sector, Anthony was a journalist at Queensland’s Courier-Mail covering finance and business.
Jenny is QCC’s Climate Lead. She has expertise in climate and environmental policy along with a passion for building diverse coalitions. Jenny experience working for government, environmental NGOs, and most recently for the World Bank where she developed targeted interventions and national GHG transition plans to enhance climate ambition across the transport sector.

Campaigning to at least double Queensland’s protected area system by 2030, Nicky works with Queenslanders from all walks of life to achieve this. Passion to ensure we as a community leave a positive legacy for future generations underpins her approach.
A former journalist on the Sunshine Coast, Nicky also brings experience from private forestry and agroforestry, tertiary teaching in sustainability and natural resource management, and forest conservation campaigning.
Flynn is a local to Central Queensland and understands the vital importance of regional engagement. With a background in communication, he has worked for unions and undertaken various local media roles in the region, many tied into the renewable transition.
Flynn has volunteered to fight against native deforestation and gas projects, and has served as Youth Minister for the Environment where he built strong regional connections. Now he’s keen to put that experience to work as Rockhampton’s Regional Environmental Advocate.
Nigel Parratt, is QCC's Water Officer. Nigel was the QCC Rivers Project Officer from 2005 until 2013 and has worked for WWF-Australia for the last 7 years has recently returned to QCC as the new Water Policy Officer, which is funded by the Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water for the next 3 years.
Matt's role within the Queensland Conservation Council is Outdoor Community Campaigner, where he is responsible for engaging volunteers and supporters around the Stand Up For Nature and Protect Beautiful Queensland campaigns, as well as ongoing volunteer support and empowerment.
Matt has worked in sectors as diverse as agriculture, construction and high school education and began campaigning voluntarily for nature and the climate during his studies in environmental science in 2023. Upon finishing his degree, Matt worked on the federal election campaign in 2025 as a Field Organiser, engaging Brisbane residents to take action for the climate.
Matt is originally from Cornwall in the UK and has lived in Australia for 6 years, with 4 years spent in Queensland. In his spare time, Matt loves running and spending time in forests, mountains and by the coast.
Driven by a love for Central Queensland and its natural wonders, Emma has spent the last few years volunteering with local community organisations to champion a just transition to renewables in Gladstone.
Emma lives in the Gladstone Region with her husband and three young children where she has previously taught at the local high school. Swapping music lessons for sustainability workshops, Emma is looking forward to flexing her program delivery muscles in a new direction!
Hayley's role within the Queensland Conservation Council is Organising Coordinator, responsible for engaging and organising volunteers to increase capacity across QCC as well as organiser volunteers and supporters. Hayley has been working and volunteering in community organising roles within climate and environment campaigns for the last 9 years as well as having a background in ecology and Landcare. Previously she worked with Lock the Gate as a Brisbane Community Organiser and 350.org as QLD university divestment coordinator.

Tash has always been inspired by the natural world, from snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef - her favourite place on the planet - to exploring the forests of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland where she lives today.
As Partnerships Manager, she leads QCC's fundraising, partnerships, and grant stewardship to help protect, conserve, and sustain Queensland's environment and climate. With more than a decade of experience in marketing and communications across NGOs, international development, and wildlife conservation, this is Tash's first official role in the environment sector. She is excited to combine her lifelong love of nature with her professional work.

Tim has worked for over fifteen years in a wide variety of digital roles including website content, digital marketing, communications, and social media. This is Tim's first role in the Environment sector after working in higher and further education.
As the Digital Communications Manager for QCC, Tim engages our existing audiences and finds ways to reach new ones through email, websites, and social media.
After spending the last ten years working in the UK, he has moved back to Brisbane with his wife and 4 young children, swapping beanies and scarves for sunscreen and thongs.
Teila Watson is a BirriGubba and Gangulu woman from what is now referred to as central Queensland, raised in Brisbane's Blackfulla community, and joins QCC as our new Protect Country Strategist.
She brings professional experience in the environmental space through community organising and campaigning, and also the cultural knowledge and values that have been passed down through her family and community for generations.
Teila is especially passionate about climate justice, history, Aboriginal governance (ecologically and socially) and cultural continuity. She is committed to ensuring that First Nations voices are not only heard, but are central to QCC's work.

QCC’s Board is responsible for overseeing the strategic and financial direction of the organisation. The QCC Board is made up of volunteers who are elected annually by our member groups.

Trevor is an Aboriginal with Australian heritage, born in Cooktown, Cape York Peninsula, with ties to Princess Charlotte Bay, Lakefield and the Palmer River.
For the last thirty-two years Trevor has lived and worked in environmental and natural resource management roles and contributed to the Indigenous Advancement Strategy.
Trevor holds an International Agriculture Diploma and a Certificate in Animal Husbandry. Other qualifications include Conservation and Land Management Training and Assessment. He has also undertaken numerous courses including Environmental Project Management and aerial and on ground environmental scientific surveys to name a few.
Crystal has been engaged with the North Queensland Conservation Council (NQCC) since 2017 and became their Coordinator in 2021.
Dedicated to strengthening ties between the statewide environmental movement and regional Queenslanders, Crystal prioritises governance, organisational culture, community bonds, and emerging leadership.
With insights gained from community organising training via the Queensland Community Alliance, Crystal brings a unique understanding of regional issues, fostering collaboration with North Queensland environmental groups for a more impactful environmental movement.
As a transgender woman, Grace brings extensive experience in statewide LGBTQI+ leadership and direct advocacy with MPs. In her day job, she works nationally to promote ecological justice within dioceses of the catholic church across Australia.
Grace believes in combining inclusive advocacy, walking with marginalised communities, to engage effectively with MP's across the spectrum, and has led previous advocacy initiatives to successfully deliver LGBTQI+ rights here in Queensland. She looks forward to bringing the same passion and energy to QCC's mission.
Grace's favourite animal is the Quokka.
Roch is a Fellow in CPA Australia with 20+years experience in Finance and Accounting. She also holds a Master of Business and a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy and NonProfit Studies.
Roch used to volunteer in various environmental orgs (cleanup days etc) and hopes to contribute to QCC’s effort to drive systemic and policy changes in protecting our ecosystems.
Peter has been active for over 20 years in campaigns on climate action, land clearing and biodiversity loss. He continues to make a commitment to collaborating with First Nations Peoples in Australia and the Pacific in his ecological activism.
Peter helped to facilitate the campaign by QCC member organisations for a Queensland EPA. He is also working in the faith communities sector to assist organisations in the sector to divest from fossil fuel.
Diana is a Kunggandji, Kaanju and Kulkalgau woman from North Queensland. She is passionately focused on advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's rights to self-determination and promoting community engagement.
Diana recognises the profound challenges that climate change has on Indigenous health, and she aims to amplify their voices to help safeguard Queensland's climate and environment, making a meaningful impact across communities and beyond.
Darryl is an experienced not-for-profit leader with a strong focus on governance, accountability and sector sustainability.
As CEO of Queensland Water and Land Carers Inc, he provides governance and insurance support to more than 520 Landcare, Coastcare, Wildlife, Conservation and environmental volunteer groups statewide, strengthening compliance, risk management, strategy and board/committee performance.
Darryl has inspired reforms that improve organisational resilience, volunteer safety and transparent decision-making. He works closely with government, NRM organisations and peak environmental organisations to ensure community voices are well-represented and trusted.
With broad knowledge of the Queensland environmental landscape and extensive board experience, Darryl is committed to supporting QCC's strategic leadership and good governance for a thriving Queensland environment.
For most of the last thirty years I have been an active environmentalist in the Darling Downs region. During that time, I have worked as a convenor of a regional conservation council and been involved in the set up of many single issue and broad-based community environment groups in the region.
Most recently, from 2013 to 2023, I was Secretary of the Darling Downs Environment Council (DDEC) and DDEC's representative to the Minister's Environment Round Table for the same period. My main areas of interest are legislation and compliance of the Mining and Coal Seam Gas industries and water quality in the Condamine and Balonne catchment.
