Join us for a workshop and launch of #Stand Up for Nature.
This is an opportunity for conservation, animal protection, water catchment and other community groups, or anyone who cares about our environment to gather together.
We will look at how working together, we can better protect nature across our beautiful region.
This morning workshop will include:
- Updates on key conservation developments, such as regional and bio-regional planning, koala protection regulations and Olympics legacy activity - and what they mean for us locally.
- Opportunities to help develop and sign up for future actions and training events, like media training, social media, community outreach etc.
- An opportunity to network and connect with other like minded people.
- An interactive launch of #Stand up For Nature, including free resources for groups!
We are in a really important election year. We can't afford to go backwards on nature protection or climate action.
Queensland has the least amount of national parks and protected areas compared to any other state or territory, and each year hundreds of thousands of hectares are cleared. And in SEQ we have significant population growth planned without strong environmental protections in place!
Right now it’s vital to show your local decision makers that you care about action to protect nature and they must too.
Come along for a fun morning to learn all about the campaign, meet other local like minded people and find out how you can get involved to stand up for nature.
