We urgently need to build more solar, wind and storage to bring down emissions and protect our precious biodiversity from climate change. Unfortunately, our inadequate planning frameworks are allowing clean energy projects to be approved in environmentally sensitive areas.

The State Government is listening to our concerns and has proposed updates to the wind farm code, State Code 23, for consultation

Upgrading State Code 23 is an important step, but we need bigger, bolder planning reforms, including mapping to identify and protect areas of high biodiversity and critical habitat and a code for solar.

For a safe climate future we can, and must, have both a renewable energy industry and thriving nature. We will win this by a strong, cohesive movement with a clear narrative on the need for nature protection and climate action, and the ways that these work together.

Join us on Monday 28 August at 6pm to help us build renewable energy better.
