Join us for a social evening to connect, debrief and have some fun together.
Right now, we're getting challenging news for nature and climate across the board.
At the end of last year once in a generation environmental law reforms failed to pass our Federal Parliament and the re-elected ALP Government has just announced a 2035 emissions reduction target of 62-70% by 2035. More new coal and gas projects are being approved at state and national level - falling short of what science says is needed to keep Queenslanders safe from the worst climate impacts, and even as the world hit its highest historic average temperature on record (a worrying 1.6 degrees) and released the national climate impacts report highlighting what's to come.
Yet, 2025 still offers critical opportunities we can and must act on to protect nature and mitigate the worst impacts of climate change from happening. Working together to grow a powerful, people powered movement to protect and restore our environment is important but taking time to pause and reflect, reconnect is as important. Join us to reflect on what's been happening, connect with other volunteers and staff, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon to re-energise.
