Join us to rally for reform, and demand stronger nature laws now!
Right now, the Nature Positive Bills are before the Senate with the crossbench providing a pathway to pass the laws with amendments that will protect threatened species habitat. This is a once-in-a-generation chance to reform our environment laws to protect our wildlife. February is the last sitting of Parliament before the next election, and passing these laws is critical to safeguarding threatened species habitats and halting biodiversity loss. We simply cannot wait for these reforms to be kicked down the road for the next government.
While Australia is a place of incredible landscapes and unique wildlife, we currently lead the world in the extinction of mammals and remain a global deforestation hotspot. Reforming Australia's nature law is a critical opportunity to halt and reverse nature and biodiversity loss. The intertwined climate and biodiversity crisis can be addressed through strong new national environment laws that protect biodiversity and forests, and our over 2000 species that are currently threatened with extinction.
