New legislation proposed by the Crisafulli government would strip regional communities of their right to go to court to protect the local environment from invasive mining projects, including coal and gas which have far reaching impacts in biodiversity, water and climate.

This Bill would severely limit the ability of Queenslanders to object to damaging mining projects across the state, limiting objects to people within a 125km radius and put their right to a court hearing at the discretion of the State Government.

QCC and Lock The Gate will be outside the public hearing at Parliament House to stand up for farmers, regional Queenslanders, First Nations and community groups against the interests of billion-dollar mining companies.

Thousands of Queenslanders have already signed Lock The Gate's petition to the state government - join us on Wednesday 28 October to deliver it.

If you haven't already signed the petition, add your name at LockTheGate.org.au/COR
