Dave Copeman - Acknowledgement of service to QCC

Last year, we farewelled Dave Copeman after his five-year tenure as QCC's Director. During this period, QCC experienced significant growth and secured a range of important protections for Queensland's climate and nature.

Throughout Dave's tenure, QCC and its member groups contributed to several significant environmental policy shifts and other achievements, including:

  1. Securing the 75% by 2035 emissions reduction target and the establishment of legislated sector plans.
  2. Playing a central role in the Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan, which sets a clear path toward 100% renewables by 2035.
  3. Securing $262.5 million of Queensland Government funding committed to National Parks
  4. The rejection of EPBC Act devolution proposals and the introduction of subsequent reforms addressing native forest logging and land clearing.

We thank Dave for his significant contributions to environmental advocacy across Queensland and wish him the best in his next chapter.
