Join us for a introduction to our Stand Up For Nature campaign!
Queensland has the least amount of national parks and protected areas compared to any other state or territory and each year hundreds of thousands of hectare are cleared the equivalent of 500 Toohey Forests each year! Right now it’s vital to show your local decision makers that you care about action to protect nature and they must too.
We know the best way to ensure our incredible landscapes and wildlife are protected is through strong laws and permanent habitat protection. We need decision makers too commit to protecting nature by:
- Doubling Queensland’s protected areas by 2030
- We need strong nature laws that end deforestation and protect critical habitat for threatened species including Koalas in SEQ
Come along for a fun morning to learn all about the campaign, meet other local like minded people and find out how you can get involved to protect nature. We will run through a briefing of the campaign, pair up for a short door knocking session and then get to know each other over a shared a picnic, provided by us.
We are getting 'Stand Up for Nature' sign out right across Queensland to visibly show decision makers that the community is standing up for nature and we expect them to do the same.
