Empowering NQ Women for the Environment

Apply to participate here

Queensland Conservation Council and North Queensland Conservation Council are happy to share that we have received funding to run a special event for the 2017 Queensland Women’s Week. This event is to facilitate the empowerment of North Queensland women for the environment. We will be facilitating a series of conversations reflecting and celebrating women’s role in the environment in North Queensland through storytelling. We will also be developing women’s networks, and providing workshops in building resilience, building confidence and building leadership.

At the end of the weekend, we want our participants leaving feeling like they are part of a long legacy of women leading the conservation movement in North Queensland, feeling supported, reinvigorated and with a few new skills to use in their community engagement and/or activism.

We have 40 places open for the event. We are looking for diversity across age, experience, skills and involvement. We are looking for women based in North Queensland who have been involved for years, as well as emerging leaders looking to become more involved.
