At the start of the 2017 Queensland State Election, we wrote to the main political parties and sought their responses to our priority conservation issues.
Queensland Labor have provided a detailed response to our priorities, including links to specific policy documents and announcements on land clearing and renewable energy.
The Queensland Greens have also provided a formal response to our priorities, including their position on land clearing and renewable energy.
We have not received any response from the Liberal National Party, nor from One Nation. This is very disappointing, and we can only conclude that they had little positive to say about conservation priorities in Queensland.
Nevertheless, we can offer some basic insights into where these parties stand on a couple of major concerns: land clearing and renewable energy. These observations for the LNP and One Nation are based on public statements, published documents and on track record.
